This month I read a variety of genres. Here are my short thoughts on the books that I read.

Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
Hunger Games fans will love this suspenseful, dystopian plot, but it also raises interesting questions about morality and values. (I haven’t finished book three yet so I can’t comment on how the series ends, but I flew through the first two books!)
On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
I know King from his movies: couldn’t handle The Shining & loved Shawshank Redemption. I haven’t read his books but how his life informs his writing is intriguing. His straightforward writing tips amuse & inform.
The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking by Dale Carnegie
Not so much about the art of speaking, rather its focus is practical. A quick read because of all the stories woven in. While building your confidence in speaking it also builds confidence in who you are as an individual and the stories that you have to tell.
