Our time in Orlando last week ended with a trip to the beach, which was especially welcoming after such a cold Atlanta winter!
We spent a couple days hanging out with my parents, reading, relaxing, and walking the beach. Then Spring Break Real Life Edition started when several of our high school friends arrived for the weekend. Although for “grown ups” Spring Break is only a weekend at the beach and not an entire week, we made the most of every minute of our time together!
I don’t yet have all of the pictures from the weekend, but here are some highlights from the weekend and pictures from my phone (FYI you can click the pictures to see them larger):
We went for a walk on the beach…
…and saw someone catch a shark.
We took a boat ride to lunch…
…Which Justin tracked on his iPhone.
After lunch, the crew hung out on the beach, played Bocce ball, and body surfed in the ocean (in March!), while I took a nap because I unfortunately got a cold.
At sunset, we had appetizers and cocktails on my Dad’s boat Rhythm n’ Blues…
…and reminisced about our 18 years of friendship.
What the photos didn’t capture were the laughs we shared, the memories of high school that we replayed, and the encouragement that we offered one another for where we are in our lives right now.
I am so inspired by each of my friends and the incredible ways they are pursuing their passions, with Isha in medical school for cardiology, Kim in a PhD program for autism research, Andrew doing something above my head but saving patients’ lives through metrics, Justin and Megan managing the employees for their family’s business and loving working at Basin, and John in his element doing marketing for Chick-fil-A… what an inspiration!
I’m very grateful for our “Spring Break” together and our continued friendships through the years.
